• happiness followsHi Dave and Van.....and Zen! We often think of you both and wonder how you're doing. Dan and I are getting ready to sell my house and move. I came across your Christmas card and the congrats card for our wedding, in which you both played an important role in:) I'll never forget after tons of contacts from photographers, Dave emailed me and meet with Dan and I after church in the BCE building in T.O. We not only enjoyed your photos, but it was your presence that sold us. Both of you made our day fun for sure. I'll never forget two snippets in my memory....one with Van helping me buckle my shoes in my wedding dress....the other the look on Dave's face when Alayah jumped off the wall with her cast on her leg, after she cracked her ankle a week prior to the wedding....yeah....you were ready to be a dad, even back then. You both must be just wrapped with passion, love, life and humility...amazing people.....thanks for the memories. We wish you all God's greatest gifts in life. May your paths in life be protected and that you leave behind every where you walk the essence of freedom inside out. Akhia & Dan Hughes <3

• all betterhi marianne,
thanks for the nice comment about my photos.
unfortunately, i'm not sure if i'll be able to help out with your wedding (most likely due to geographic reasons; like the fact that i live in india :).
I know someone who might be able to help you that is based in Ontario who is quite good in my opinion.

• all betterHi there, I think your photos are beautiful!! I'm wondering if you do something as comparatively ordinary (certainly less exotic) as weddings. I'm getting married July 26th of this year 11am. I'd probably need someone for about 3-4 hours. Please let me know if this is something you would be interested in and what your rates are. Thanks, Marianne

• enlighteni spend too much time analyzing and picking my photos apart instead of just enjoying them. i'd effectively turned my photos into a process which stopped my enjoyment of taking them.

• teamworkExcerpt from Good to Great:

Disciplined People: "Who" Before "What"

You are a bus driver. The bus, your company, is at a standstill, and it's your job to get it going. You have to decide where you're going, how you're going to get there, and who's going with you.

Most people assume that great bus drivers (read: business leaders) immediately start the journey by announcing to the people on the bus where they're going -- by setting a new direction or by articulating a fresh corporate vision.

In fact, leaders of companies that go from good to great start not with "where" but with "who." They start by getting the right people on the bus, the wrong people off the bus, and the right people in the right seats. And they stick with that discipline -- first the people, then the direction -- no matter how dire the circumstances.

• braving new groundAs many of you may (or may not?) know; Van, Zen and I moved to India for an extended period so that I could help with an outsourcing project for Sandvine. We hope to use this blog to provide a window into our little corner of India to share with our friends and family. Our promise is to try to update this on a regular basis with photos and comments of our experience. Similar to the girl in the photo, we've were a little apprehensive when we first arrived, but our dilligence is being rewarded.
