i'm not sure when it happened, but i became an early-bird. i know the arrival of zen has fostered this nature, but it's been around for quite some time. it's probably a good thing, considering van's the opposite.
this photo was taken in luang prabang in the wee hours. every day, the monks will walk the streets, collecting food from the locals. fortunately, for the tourists, some of the locals bring extra food that they'll sell to you (at a highly marked up price of 7$ for some steamed rice), that you can use to join in the tradition.
