postcards from ?
the flight from bangkok to amman jordan wasn't overly memorable other than it was the first time i've ever been able to sleep on a plane. i suppose flights just after midnight have their own benefits. spent a lot of the day waiting, as i was at the bangkok airport 4 hours early (don't let anybody convince you that you need to be that early, even the airline check-in counter will send you back :). lay-over in jordan was 6 hours, which ordinarily would be a feat of itself for someone who can't sit still for more than twenty minutes. luckily i had foreseen this dilemma and purchased lords of the bow, an excellent book chronicling the rise of genghis kahn. 536 pages, 3 hours of entertainment.
highlight of the day: discovering that starbucks exists in jordan
lowlight of the day:realizing a small coffee costs 9 USD.
