we stopped to see the bird man today; effectively a fortune teller who delegates the selection of the cards to a parrot. while i generally don't believe in such things, i figured it would be good for a laugh. what i didn't anticipate was the humour in translation from parrot to tamil to english. i left with the knowledge that i'll be successful; either in the past or the future is yet to be determined and that i have a good marriage. while i'm sure the casual observer would've figured these out, i suppose i'm impressed that the parrot pulled this out of his hat. :)
