i'm not sure how the hindu pantheon was established, but it certainly seems that the deities were put together by marketing representatives for an action-figure toy company. how can you compete with an action figure with an elephant head and posable limbs? now, i know a bit about the background story, and if i were shiva and saw that my kid had the head of an elephant; there definitely would be some questions being raised with mrs. shiva.
